Greetings and G'day, Visitor!
Welcome to Roma Old Ways - our family oriented internet oasis. Our community has been created by youthful Roma and Pavee to reach out to all living souls in the world! This includes you :) So please, by all means, come inside, join us.
Registering, by creating a new account, is necessary to personalise your experience here. However, please note that there is no need to register if you don't want to. Roma Old Ways is free to use - no strings attached.
You can begin your experience by first visiting our message board called Gypsy Oasis where our conversations are happening. We hope to see you there!

Why are we on the internet? Since the year 2005, there has been a huge influx of all types of Roma to the internet. This has led both Roma and Gadje on the quest to figure out who we are, specially figure out our spiritual and historical roots.
Who are we? We are a couple originally from Ireland and Chile. From across the globe we joined as strangers and settled in Australia. We both had a lot of catching up to do, so we spent long unforgetful hours sharing our experiences. In our travels we have also been blessed to cross paths with people who have shared their stories with us. Leaving lasting impressions.
These stories needed to be shared - written! Roma Old Ways sprouted from the energy a person feels when they can't hold a certain message inside no longer. It's too good to withhold. Our site provides an oasis for the sharing of our combined experiences with one another. There is the hope that we may find personal keys in our stories to unlock the mysteries of our roots, ancestry and relationship with Duvvel. Complete freedom involves our hearts and minds.

Roma Old Ways has had a facelift (19th June 2009)! We have updated the FAQs, Community, About Us, Weblinks and Gypsy Oasis pages. We are aware of some issues with the website that you may be experiencing. These include slow uploading of pages and layout problems (Internet Explorer wrecks the template, ie. the way the site looks). Please wait patiently as we resolve the issues in the site. If you have any concerns, advice or comments, please email the website administrator at

Credits and Thanks
This site has been a real challenge to create for us. My wife has been an invaluable source of strength (and yummie food) as I have spent long dreary hours trying to figure out how to build this site from scratch! It was a challenge well met, I believe. I feel much gratitude to the following services for bringing life to our site:
- Siteground - Our excellent quality, cheap, and very reliable website host.
- phpBB3 - for providing us with our quality Bulletin Board (forums) for our Gypsy Oasis.
- Echo - for creating and sharing for free the Acoustic theme we utilise the Gypsy Forums.
- RocketTheme - for providing us with the beautiful template we clothed the site with.
- Joomla! - for freely giving us the portal to run our site.
We would also like to extend our heart felt gratitude to:
- All the members that have been with us from the start. Without you there would not have been a community!
- Samaritan's Foundation for providing me with a job to keep this site up and our bellies full.
- Once again, my wife. I may have worked on the site, but she has done so much outside of the site to make this happen. Thank you so much love!
Independent Egyptologists
Roma Old Ways supports independent Egyptologists, or at least Egyptologists who shed "new" light into archeology and bring to the fore what the powers that be want to keep from the public. Here we try and give you specially selected authors who not only are great independent Egyptologists, but some also support our own cultural oral traditions.

Recommended Authors
There is very little research and publications based on our Romani old ways culture. It is difficult for researches and scholars to study cultures that by nature keep to themselves. Interestingly enough, in this age of Revealing, we are finding more and more publications that shed light into our Romani old ways culture. Here are a few books and websites we recommend. Safe and Sound
Online communities often succumb to predators and bullies. I'm sure many of us can recall a time where we have experienced harassment in an online environment. For those who have been searching for a community of working families and an easy going atmosphere, you've found the right place. Here, the quality of communication stays meaningful.
